You’re Hot, You’re cool, You’re dripping.

Red Light Therapy Booth

I don’t know about you, but if I even start thinking about trying a new health or beauty treatment, it’s as if my phone has read my mind, and I’m instantly barraged with ads on every form of social media for a myriad of life-altering therapies…

While I’m dreaming of feeling and looking ten years younger with these easy potions, pills, and pricks…I quickly get so overwhelmed, landing in a Google rabbit hole, unsure where to go or what to order, and back where I began, feeling older and exhausted!

Luckily, I’ve finally discovered a few spots that hopefully help make these decisions easier for you. At Restore Hyper Wellness, I was delighted to find an edited space with many of the treatments I'd been focused on under one roof and not too many more. The space is clean and cozy, with an extremely helpful and user-friendly staff to explain in layman’s terms the “why try” for each of the treatments.

What I wanted is what Jennifer Aniston said was her game changer. “The ‘I’ll have what she’s having’ is a serving of NAD+ infusions. The peptide nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is delivered into the bloodstream in an injection or IV drip lasting between one to three hours. This enzyme, which is essential for energy, metabolism, circadian rhythm, and stem cell rejuvenation, diminishes as you age and with stress. With replacement treatments, people have experienced increased energy, less brain fog, younger-looking skin, and even found it to combat the symptoms of long COVID. After a consult with the in-house nurse, I was ready to drip…

I also tried the Cryotherapy and Red-Light Therapies to address the pain of an impinged shoulder, a tight hip and some general muscle stiffness from age and winter. I stripped down and sat comfortably under the red lights for ten minutes, feeling internal warmth and relaxation return to my body.  Afterward, I selected a song (70’s disco hit Born to Be Alive came to my mind. Are you surprised?), and after donning knee socks, mittens, a hat, and a gator to cover sensitive areas, I stepped into the icy chamber feeling a little intimidated to close the door. Luckily, the front panel is clouded for privacy, but you can see through the top to know civilization is right on the other side, and a timer counts down the minutes while the music blasts. I felt silly dancing at first but realized this was the best way to get through the session, and before I was done with my glacial get-down, the song was over, and I stepped out feeling revived and clear-headed. On my walk home, I truly noted the disappearance of the hip and shoulder pain, and my skin felt as if I’d had a facial without the poking and prodding. While I visited the Upper East Side venue, Restore has six other New York locations and keeps your records on file so you can visit other locations for convenience.

Man Getting an IV Drip from Woman Practitioner

Nantucket, with its misty harbors, salt-kissed breezes, and centuries-old charm, has always been a place where history whispers through every weathered shingle and cobblestone street. This spring, one of the island’s most beloved landmarks, the Veranda House, will once again welcome guests, rising from the ashes of a devastating 2022 fire that necessitated a complete rebuild. Set to reopen in spring 2025, the new Veranda House is a masterpiece of restoration and reinvention. Owned by Procaccianti Companies and managed by TPG Hotels & Resorts as part of the Nantucket Resort Collection, the rebuild was meticulously overseen in collaboration with the town and historic district commission to ensure that the property retained its original federal-style elegance while incorporating modern luxuries and state-of-the-art amenities. First built in 1684, the Veranda House has stood as a symbol of Nantucket’s rich maritime legacy, its wraparound porches offering a front-row seat to the island’s ever-changing seascape. The new design remains true to its original size, scale, and architectural character, seamlessly blending historic integrity with contemporary comforts. Guests will find spa-like ensuite baths in every room, featuring Carrara marble, custom fixtures, and sleek walk-in showers—a nod to modern indulgence without sacrificing classic charm. The 19 redesigned rooms, including the Grand Harborview King with its private balcony and fireplace, exude an intimate, serene luxury. Expanded outdoor gathering spaces now offer even more opportunities for guests to soak in the island’s ambiance, whether sipping coffee at sunrise or toasting the golden hour over Nantucket Harbor. “This reopening marks a significant mile- stone, not just for Veranda House, but for the entire Nantucket community. We are deeply thankful for the community’s unwavering support in bringing this iconic property back to life,” says Paul Hitselberger, EVP of Operations for TPG Hotels & Resorts. The Veranda House is not just a recon- struction—it’s a resurrection, a tribute to Nantucket’s ability to endure, evolve, and enchant. Its doors reopen as a beacon of timeless hospitality, welcoming travelers to a place where history is honored, and every detail—from the breezy verandas to the handcrafted interiors—tells a story. For those who love Nantucket, the Veranda House is a homecoming. Images courtesy of The Veranda House.
