As a female scientist, and clean science advocate, Terri Vinson, Founder, Formulator, and Cosmetic Chemist of Synergie Skin, saw a significant gap in the skincare market for highly effective products free from any potentially harmful ingredients that delivered transparency and consumer education. With a background in biology and chemistry, a passion for studying the effect of topical ingredients on skin cells, and the ability to take a formula from inception to shelf, Terri created Synergie Skin. Founded in 2005, the certified cruelty-free brand quickly bloomed and became internationally recognized for formulas that are created with evidence based active ingredients.

Growing up Terri always had a passion for science and was naturally led to complete a science degree, she then received a post-graduate diploma in teaching secondary school science. Terri began her career in her twenties as a secondary science teacher but shortly after realized it was not the right fit and moved on to continue her work in science within the skincare industry. It was not until her forties that Terri took a leap of faith, emptied her emergency savings, and opened a start-up skin clinic in Melbourne Australia.

During the recession in 2008, many of Terri’s clients could not afford treatments, but they always came back for the products she formulated. This was a light bulb moment for Terri. She closed the clinic, and focused on her ability to formulate and opened a lab in Burwood, Melbourne.

At the heart of Synergie Skin is Terri’s Clean Science® philosophy; her commitment to marrying the very best of laboratory synthesized ingredients with the best naturally derived ingredients to create effective, ethical skin care that is free of any potentially harmful ingredients. All Synergie Skin products are supported by clinical data and are entirely free of Parabens, SLS or other sodium sulfates, Phthalates, PEG’s Propylene glycol, artificial colors, synthetic fragrances, Talc, and Dimethicone. Synergie Skin has maintained that not only every product but also every ingredient is free from animal testing.

Having built a 100% vertically integrated business from the ground up, Terri has worked tirelessly to create safe and ethical products aimed to protect, change, and nurture the skin for long-term results and optimal dermal health. In a market that is often fraught with false buzzwords and questionable ingredients, Terri’s unique Clean Science® philosophy arms you with enough scientific insight and confidence to identify which products truly work and why, so you can decide what is best for your skin. The unique structure of being a 100% vertically integrated company means all products are researched, developed, manufactured, and packaged under one roof. Terri formulates each product herself in the Synergie Skin Laboratory in Melbourne, Australia. This unique company structure guarantees the quality of the product.

After continuing to lead the skincare industry in Australia, in March of 2021 the cult-favorite Australian skincare brand Synergie Skin entered the U.S. market. As a passionate skin scientist, changing skincare on a global scale, Terri Vinson, sets Synergie Skin apart from other brands by educating and empowering people to make their own choices about what they put on their bodies. Synergie is not just a brand name but reflects Terri’s approach to creating Synergie Skin products with high levels of active ingredients that work in concert to deliver results.

Rada, a chic new restaurant in Myers Park, introduces Charlotte to an elevated dining experience with tapas, biodynamic wines, and shareable plates. Helmed by Chef Callan Buckles, formerly of acclaimed NYC spots like Claud, Momofuku, and The Four Horsemen, the menu is a bold fusion of global influences. Owner Eloy Roy envisioned this contemporary American eatery in the former Little Spoon space, creating a cozy yet upscale 50-seat spot with mint green walls and a minimalist aesthet-ic. From a $3 Gilda skewer to a $110 sirloin, Rada’s offerings reflect Buckles’ culinary pedigree and adventurous flair. With dishes like eggplant escabeche and seabass paired with txakolina wine, Rada aims to carve out a niche in Charlotte’s emerging shared-plates scene.Rada blends fine dining with approachability, focusing on flavors that challenge Charlotte’s palate while embracing its neighborhood vibe. Highlights include crispy roast chicken with vegetable farcis and Asian-inspired touches like fish sauce and shio koji. The bar program is equally compelling, featuring a gin martini made with anchovy oil and Basque pepper brine. Roy believes Rada will resonate deeply with diners, offering something fresh yet familiar. This new spot, opened on Selwyn Avenue, invites locals to indulge in innovative cuisine and discover what they’ve been craving all along.
