With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry Caci Di Russo owner of Toccare Day spa provides unsurpassed excellence.

Her upscale Myers Park location offers the most exclusive skin care available. Caci along with her team specialize in a holistic approach and non-invasive treatments. Skincare. Skincare. Skincare. Who doesn’t love a good skincare routine? I was recently able to interview Caci and learn her secrets to glowing skin. Here’s what she had to say:

-What inspired you to create Toccare?

I wanted to create a special space for my valued clientele where they could come and get good honest advice about their skin care and self care needs without feeling pressured.

-Where does the name come from?

Toccare means "to touch" in Italian. It's a tribute back to our loyal clientele that have made this all possible.

- How has it evolved from your original concept?

Well, it's grown a lot more than I anticipated. We've stuck to practicing the basics really well-- that's what our team is really good at. A place where you can come get a good, solid, routine facial and not be oversold on what's trending in the ever changing beauty market. I've learned through the years that beauty begins within and our happiness and contentment with ourselves is what truly makes us look and feel beautiful. We are constantly combing the market for extra value we can introduce to our clientele and then our team of experienced estheticians researches and weighs in with their personal experience.

- How do you determine products and treatment programs for your clients?

Our focus is on non-invasive treatments, and helping our clients make educated decisions when it comes to what they put on their bodies. So while we are constantly scouting and researching new brands to partner with, we make a conscious effort to only carry what speaks to us.

- Why is the Holistic approach important to you?

Because beauty is not just about what's on the outside. I've spent a lot of time throughout my years as an esthetician talking with my guests about the way they feel and see their skin. I've seen first hand the amazing transformation a client can have just by learning to love what they see in themselves and learning how to care for their skin and by not obsessing on the perfection our society tells them they should see. I've learned through my personal journey that we store all these negative emotions in our bodies and how damaging that can be to the way we look and feel as well as our long term health. I choose to work with clean ingredients when possible because it makes the most sense. Just like choosing organic milk or chicken that's been grown without hormones. There are thousands of ingredients included in mainstream products that are simply unnecessary. The beauty industry is focused so heavily on change, aggressive and overwhelming treatments, and seeing ourselves through a lens that needs to be corrected. I believe beauty is about learning to care for, nurture, and be kind to what we see in the mirror.

- The five (or any number) products that should form the foundation for any effective daily skincare routine?

I'm a minimalist when it comes to my daily beauty ritual so I'll mention 3. A good oil based cleanser, a vitamin C serum, and a layer of protection whether that be an oil or moisturizer that's most suitable for your skin type.

- Can't live without product?

For me, personally, it's the Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm. It's a unique texture in that it feels like a balm but melts down to an oil-like feel when pressed against the skin. It's light-weight yet provides intense moisture, and also helps tone down redness.

- Favorite beauty item to splurge on?

A good facial, our Gua Sha or Microcurrent Facials are incredible

- In a pinch, best multi use product?

The Cupu cool balm from Lil Fox. It can be used as a cleanser, moisturizer, or face mask. I'm a sucker for a dual action product.

- Most important part of your beauty routine?

Practicing gratitude, and of course, Moisturizer :)

Nantucket, with its misty harbors, salt-kissed breezes, and centuries-old charm, has always been a place where history whispers through every weathered shingle and cobblestone street. This spring, one of the island’s most beloved landmarks, the Veranda House, will once again welcome guests, rising from the ashes of a devastating 2022 fire that necessitated a complete rebuild. Set to reopen in spring 2025, the new Veranda House is a masterpiece of restoration and reinvention. Owned by Procaccianti Companies and managed by TPG Hotels & Resorts as part of the Nantucket Resort Collection, the rebuild was meticulously overseen in collaboration with the town and historic district commission to ensure that the property retained its original federal-style elegance while incorporating modern luxuries and state-of-the-art amenities. First built in 1684, the Veranda House has stood as a symbol of Nantucket’s rich maritime legacy, its wraparound porches offering a front-row seat to the island’s ever-changing seascape. The new design remains true to its original size, scale, and architectural character, seamlessly blending historic integrity with contemporary comforts. Guests will find spa-like ensuite baths in every room, featuring Carrara marble, custom fixtures, and sleek walk-in showers—a nod to modern indulgence without sacrificing classic charm. The 19 redesigned rooms, including the Grand Harborview King with its private balcony and fireplace, exude an intimate, serene luxury. Expanded outdoor gathering spaces now offer even more opportunities for guests to soak in the island’s ambiance, whether sipping coffee at sunrise or toasting the golden hour over Nantucket Harbor. “This reopening marks a significant mile- stone, not just for Veranda House, but for the entire Nantucket community. We are deeply thankful for the community’s unwavering support in bringing this iconic property back to life,” says Paul Hitselberger, EVP of Operations for TPG Hotels & Resorts. The Veranda House is not just a recon- struction—it’s a resurrection, a tribute to Nantucket’s ability to endure, evolve, and enchant. Its doors reopen as a beacon of timeless hospitality, welcoming travelers to a place where history is honored, and every detail—from the breezy verandas to the handcrafted interiors—tells a story. For those who love Nantucket, the Veranda House is a homecoming. Images courtesy of The Veranda House.
