A Winter Wonderland in the Heart of the Rockies

Aspen Skiing Mountain

As winter's icy fingers extend their grip over the Rockies, there's no place more enchanting to embrace the season than Aspen. With its glistening snow, world-class skiing, and an array of upscale experiences, a stay at the St. Regis in Aspen promises to be the epitome of luxury in this snow-covered paradise.

Arrival at The St. Regis: A Grand Welcome

Our journey to Aspen commenced with a flight to Aspen-Pitkin County Airport, and a warm reception awaited us. The St. Regis Aspen Resort, a premier luxury destination nestled in the heart of Aspen, rolled out the red carpet, both figuratively and literally, as we arrived at this iconic alpine establishment. The warmth of the blazing fireplaces, lavish furnishings, and the ever-graceful staff were the ideal counterbalance to the snowy outdoors.

Suite Perfection: The St. Regis Experience

The St. Regis Aspen Resort is synonymous with indulgence. We found our accommodations to be nothing short of exceptional. Our suite, adorned with plush amenities and a private balcony overlooking the snow-capped peaks, was the perfect place to unwind after a thrilling day on the slopes.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the heated bathroom floors and a rejuvenating bubble bath, paired with their signature butler service, set the stage for a night of uninterrupted relaxation.

Skiing in Style: The Aspen Snowmass Experience

Of course, a winter visit to Aspen wouldn't be complete without indulging in the world-renowned skiing and snowboarding. The St. Regis Aspen Resort provides guests with a seamless transition from their luxurious accommodations to the Aspen Snowmass slopes.

With the convenience of ski-in ski-out access, we embarked on a picturesque adventure through the Rocky Mountains' snow-covered terrain. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, Aspen offers a wide range of slopes to satisfy every level of expertise. The crisp mountain air, the satisfying crunch of snow under our boots, and the breathtaking views were all a part of the unforgettable experience.

Après-Ski Delights: A Toast to Winter's Bliss

After a day of exhilarating outdoor activities, we retreated to the St. Regis' shadowy wine vault for a delightful aprés-ski experience. Uncorking a bottle of fine wine, we shared stories of the day's adventures while indulging in delectable hors d'oeuvres. The dimly lit, rustic ambiance of the wine vault provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening of conviviality.

Art and Culture: A Visit to the Aspen Art Museum

Aspen's cultural scene is as vibrant as its outdoor adventures. To add a touch of refinement to our trip, we paid a visit to the Aspen Art Museum. This innovative institution is perched on the edge of downtown Aspen and boasts an impressive collection of contemporary art.

The ever-evolving exhibitions and avant-garde installations piqued our curiosity, offering a delightful contrast to the pristine whiteness of the surrounding landscape. It was a delightful afternoon filled with visual and intellectual stimulation, providing a different perspective on the beauty of Aspen.

Culinary Extravaganza: Dining at Velvet Buck

Our evenings at the St. Regis were a journey through culinary excellence, epitomized by the resort's signature restaurant, Velvet Buck. With an ambiance that blends mountain rusticity with modern elegance, Velvet Buck's menu is a delightful mix of local and international flavors. From succulent steaks to innovative vegetarian dishes, the dining experience here is an exquisite blend of gourmet excellence and alpine charm.

To wrap up our unforgettable winter adventure, we indulged in a starlit soak at the St. Regis' heated outdoor pool. The crisp mountain air and the warmth of the pool combined to create an enchanting evening under the starry sky. It was the perfect way to reflect on our luxurious Aspen sojourn.

As we reluctantly bid farewell to our snowy paradise, our winter visit to Aspen, with a stay at the St. Regis, left us with cherished memories of luxury, adventure, and culture. The magic of this winter wonderland, both on and off the slopes, is a reminder of why Aspen continues to be a must-visit destination for discerning travelers. So, when winter beckons, let Aspen be your resplendent destination of choice, where the beauty of the Rockies meets the luxury of the St. Regis.

Rada, a chic new restaurant in Myers Park, introduces Charlotte to an elevated dining experience with tapas, biodynamic wines, and shareable plates. Helmed by Chef Callan Buckles, formerly of acclaimed NYC spots like Claud, Momofuku, and The Four Horsemen, the menu is a bold fusion of global influences. Owner Eloy Roy envisioned this contemporary American eatery in the former Little Spoon space, creating a cozy yet upscale 50-seat spot with mint green walls and a minimalist aesthet-ic. From a $3 Gilda skewer to a $110 sirloin, Rada’s offerings reflect Buckles’ culinary pedigree and adventurous flair. With dishes like eggplant escabeche and seabass paired with txakolina wine, Rada aims to carve out a niche in Charlotte’s emerging shared-plates scene.Rada blends fine dining with approachability, focusing on flavors that challenge Charlotte’s palate while embracing its neighborhood vibe. Highlights include crispy roast chicken with vegetable farcis and Asian-inspired touches like fish sauce and shio koji. The bar program is equally compelling, featuring a gin martini made with anchovy oil and Basque pepper brine. Roy believes Rada will resonate deeply with diners, offering something fresh yet familiar. This new spot, opened on Selwyn Avenue, invites locals to indulge in innovative cuisine and discover what they’ve been craving all along.
