Embark on a Journey of Renewal as Amanyara Emerges Refreshed, Offering a Symphony of Luxury, Culinary Delights, and Holistic Wellness Amidst Pristine Coastal Serenity

A large swimming pool with a view of the ocean.

As the sun ascends above the serene turquoise waters of Providenciales, a tranquil haven awaits amidst the verdant coastal landscape. Amanyara, nestled within a 7,200-hectare nature reserve, emerges refreshed after a seasonal hiatus. The resort's reopening unveils a complete transformation of its communal spaces, including the reception, restaurants, and Beach Club, beckoning guests to immerse themselves in a revitalized ambiance and rediscover its reimagined sanctuary. This season marks another collaboration between the esteemed Aman brand and Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects.

Upon arrival, I was welcomed into the newly revitalized Entrance Pavilion, where a serene atmosphere awaits. Renowned landscape architect Raymond Jungles has enhanced the Pavilion's ambiance by framing picturesque views of the central tranquility pond with large mahogany trees. The redesigned open-plan layout ensures enhanced privacy, providing an inviting space for peaceful mornings or leisurely afternoons. Wooden backgammon and chess boards add a touch of sophistication.

Renowned for its culinary excellence, Amanyara delights in a diverse gastronomic journey. The Beach Club, now upgraded with multi-level decking and focusing on contemporary mixology, offers panoramic views of the natural scenery. As the sun sets, guests can indulge in bespoke cocktails while soaking in the golden hues of twilight—a moment of pure bliss.

A newly constructed pathway now links the Entrance Pavilion directly to the kitchen, guiding guests to a serene dining area nestled in the shade—a charming spot perfect for savoring an afternoon apéritif. Within the Main Restaurant, positioned overlooking the central ponds, comprehensive interior redesign highlights elegant artworks that command attention as focal points within the airy dining environment. Illuminated by bespoke lighting fixtures designed by the renowned international firm, The Flaming Beacon, and complemented by fresh furnishings, the restaurant emanates a warm and welcoming ambiance that persists from day to night. It was here that we experienced an enchanting dinner on our first evening. As night falls, the reflective pools cast a magical glow, with the trees appearing lifelike as they are mirrored in the tranquil waters.

For those seeking seclusion, Amanyara’s private villas beckon with renewed allure. Villa 8, a luxurious four-bedroom Tranquility Villa, has recently undergone a complete interior and exterior refurbishment, including its expansive outdoor terrace space featuring an infinity-edge swimming pool. The redesign, led by international designer Boris Mathias of Chapi Chapo Design, draws inspiration from Aman's understated elegance and the lush natural surroundings. Amanyara's most prestigious accommodation, the Artists Villa, is nestled in an exclusive location boasting its own private stretch of white sand beach. This five-bedroom villa sprawls across three acres of lush private gardens, featuring a magnificent 108-foot (33-meter) infinity swimming pool that overlooks the sea. In addition to the expansive sundecks and multiple outdoor dining areas, the villa now offers a newly added private world-class wellness and fitness area. This includes a state-of-the-art gym equipped with high-tech Peloton bikes, a comprehensive TRX system, a Pilates Reformer machine, and a multi-station home gym, allowing guests to enjoy a full-body workout while surrounded by the lush Caribbean scenery. Guests can also rejuvenate in the expansive steam room and cold plunge pool, enhancing their sense of renewal during their stay and beyond.

During our stay, we had the pleasure of residing in one of the six-bedroom villas, where we relished the services of a private chef. Amanyara's 20 Villas are strategically positioned along the coast or nestled slightly inland. There are spacious open areas ideal for socializing with family and friends, while each individual pavilion offers a secluded retreat to relax and rejuvenate in solitude.

Wellness takes center stage at Amanyara , which takes a holistic approach to well-being, catering to those seeking to relax and restore body and mind. After completing a brief health and wellness questionnaire and discussing my goals with Toby, the wellness specialist, I received an AcuGraph test, which assesses any imbalances in the body based on the principles of Chinese medicine. The results revealed which treatments and therapies would be most suitable for me. Mornings began with yoga on an Oov. So, what exactly is an OOV?

I'm still puzzled about why it's referred to as an OOV. This unique device serves as a biofeedback tool designed to subconsciously train your body to stabilize and operate at its best. With its crescent-shaped bottom, it introduces three-dimensional instability, while the S-shaped top mirrors the natural curves of the spine.

Followed by Ai Chi, based on elements of Qigong and Tai Chim but performed in the water. Using breathing techniques and progressive resistance training in water to relax and strengthen the body. It is easy to see why most Amanyara guests are returning guests.

As the sun set over the horizon, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience I had been fortunate enough to have. Whether it was the Ocean Edge Dinner or private villa cocktails followed by dinner, every moment felt like a celebration of life, love, and the beauty of the world around us.

A Legacy of Love, Grace, and Timeless Elegance
February 16, 2025
Rada, a chic new restaurant in Myers Park, introduces Charlotte to an elevated dining experience with tapas, biodynamic wines, and shareable plates. Helmed by Chef Callan Buckles, formerly of acclaimed NYC spots like Claud, Momofuku, and The Four Horsemen, the menu is a bold fusion of global influences. Owner Eloy Roy envisioned this contemporary American eatery in the former Little Spoon space, creating a cozy yet upscale 50-seat spot with mint green walls and a minimalist aesthet-ic. From a $3 Gilda skewer to a $110 sirloin, Rada’s offerings reflect Buckles’ culinary pedigree and adventurous flair. With dishes like eggplant escabeche and seabass paired with txakolina wine, Rada aims to carve out a niche in Charlotte’s emerging shared-plates scene.Rada blends fine dining with approachability, focusing on flavors that challenge Charlotte’s palate while embracing its neighborhood vibe. Highlights include crispy roast chicken with vegetable farcis and Asian-inspired touches like fish sauce and shio koji. The bar program is equally compelling, featuring a gin martini made with anchovy oil and Basque pepper brine. Roy believes Rada will resonate deeply with diners, offering something fresh yet familiar. This new spot, opened on Selwyn Avenue, invites locals to indulge in innovative cuisine and discover what they’ve been craving all along.
