Proof that more is better. The original wide ride on two wheels with steamroller stance takes on a whole new look in celebration of Harley-Davidson’s 120th anniversary.

In the waning light of a fall day, there's a rumble in the air that resonates with the spirit of freedom. It's the unmistakable growl of a Harley-Davidson, an emblem of unapologetic power and unyielding style. This is the legend that celebrates its 120th anniversary, a testament to the belief that when it comes to motorcycles, more is better.

Back in the day, in a humble shed tucked away on the Davidson's property, a dream was born. It began with one Harley and three Davidsons, an unlikely quartet that dared to rewrite the rules of transportation and redefine America's heartbeat. They could have named it Davidson-Harley, given the numerical advantage, but honor prevailed. William Harley's visionary spark ignited this revolution, earning him the place of honor in the name.

In those early years of 1903, their motorcycles were a symphony of simplicity: a buckle crank, a single-cylinder engine, pedals, and a leather drive belt. To set these two-wheeled marvels in motion, riders had to pedal until the engine roared to life. It was the birth of an era.

But Harley-Davidson was never content with the ordinary. The ambition to push motorcycle technology to its limits led to the creation of the V-Twin engine, a marvel that saw the light of day in 1909. This powerhouse unleashed riders into uncharted territory, propelling them at unheard-of speeds, a blazing 60 mph.

With the V-Twin engine, Harley-Davidson didn't just change the game; they became the game. By 1910, this technological marvel had become a sensation, churning out 3,200 machines that carried the dreams of a nation on two wheels. The open road had found its champion, and the legend of Harley-Davidson had just begun its thunderous journey through the annals of American history.

Fun Facts: The logo bar and shield represents stability and strength.

Hog is the nickname for almost any Harley but is usually reserved for the bigger bikes (as in, not Sportsters). Also, HOG is the acronym of the Harley Owners Group.

Helmed by Chef Callan Buckles, formerly of acclaimed NYC spots like Claud, Momofuku, and The Four Horsemen, the menu is a bold fusion of global influences. From a $3 Gilda skewer to a $110 sirloin, Rada’s offerings reflect Buckles’ culinary pedigree and adventurous flair. With dishes like eggplant escabeche and seabass paired with txakolina wine, Rada aims to carve out a niche in Charlotte’s emerging shared-plates scene.Rada blends fine dining with approachability, focusing on flavors that challenge Charlotte’s palate while embracing its neighborhood vibe. Highlights include crispy roast chicken with vegetable farcis and Asian-inspired touches like fish sauce and shio koji. The bar program is equally compelling, featuring a gin martini made with anchovy oil and Basque pepper brine. Roy believes Rada will resonate deeply with diners, offering something fresh yet familiar.
