As one of the first to perform platelet-rich plasma therapy (better known as PRP) for aesthetics in Charlotte, nurse practitioner Alissa Pace has treated many lovely faces through the years. While becoming a master of the PRP technique, Pace found limitations with candidacy for the procedure, as well as hesitations of clients fearful of the potential downtime. With the desire to deliver similar results to PRP with less downtime and the ability to treat a wider range of clients, Alissa decided to research a potential alternative: the use of amnion allograft. She teamed up with Dr. Adam Augenstein and the research did show using amnion allograft led to similar results to those of PRP. The research study published in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery last year and led Alissa to establish Ariasa ô

This patent pending technique optimizes the placement of the amnion allograft in the midface to regenerate tissue and restore a more prominent Ogee curve. In simple terms, the double S-shaped angle that runs along our cheeks begins to flatten as we age, due to the loss of both fat and bone. This diminishes the contour of our face, resulting in sagging skin, more prominent lines and wrinkles, and the disappearance of dimension.

Ariasa is injectable treatments (amnion allografts or PRP) that aim to regenerate the tissues of the face that break down over time. An acronym for Aesthetic Rejuvenation using Injectable Amniotic Suspension Allograft, Ariasa’s goal is to deliver an overall enhancement of our aesthetic appearance while looking as natural as possible.

If you’ve heard of PRP, it may be for its wide use in orthopedics. Amnion allografts similarly have been safely used in the orthopedic field for healing and joint injections and are also used in tissue wounds such as burns.

“Contributing to my industry in a meaningful way has always been a goal of mine.” says Pace. “It’s a privilege to offer the latest advancements in aesthetic regenerative medicine. Knowing it will change the way others feel about their appearance just makes it that much more gratifying.”

Ariasaô regenerative medicine treatments are currently available in Charlotte only, though plans to expand to other practices are in the works. You can find more information at www.ariasabeauty.com.

Rada, a chic new restaurant in Myers Park, introduces Charlotte to an elevated dining experience with tapas, biodynamic wines, and shareable plates. Helmed by Chef Callan Buckles, formerly of acclaimed NYC spots like Claud, Momofuku, and The Four Horsemen, the menu is a bold fusion of global influences. Owner Eloy Roy envisioned this contemporary American eatery in the former Little Spoon space, creating a cozy yet upscale 50-seat spot with mint green walls and a minimalist aesthet-ic. From a $3 Gilda skewer to a $110 sirloin, Rada’s offerings reflect Buckles’ culinary pedigree and adventurous flair. With dishes like eggplant escabeche and seabass paired with txakolina wine, Rada aims to carve out a niche in Charlotte’s emerging shared-plates scene.Rada blends fine dining with approachability, focusing on flavors that challenge Charlotte’s palate while embracing its neighborhood vibe. Highlights include crispy roast chicken with vegetable farcis and Asian-inspired touches like fish sauce and shio koji. The bar program is equally compelling, featuring a gin martini made with anchovy oil and Basque pepper brine. Roy believes Rada will resonate deeply with diners, offering something fresh yet familiar. This new spot, opened on Selwyn Avenue, invites locals to indulge in innovative cuisine and discover what they’ve been craving all along.
